Follow up Activity

As part of the follow-up activities after PEMEHECON, all participating youth workers jointly organised and facilitated an open workshop in Stadtpark (Vienna) to share the project's ideas locally and to test selected methods in a real community setting.

The workshop started with a short introduction to Erasmus+ and an overview of the PEMEHECON training, including its core focus on the connection between nature, mental health, and youth work practice.

After this, the group used an energising "Get-to-know-you Bingo": participants received a bingo sheet and had to find people who matched different statements by asking questions and interacting with one another. This created a friendly atmosphere quickly and helped newcomers connect in a low-threshold way.

Next, the team facilitated a simple mindfulness-in-nature exercise. Participants were given three keywords and invited to walk through the park to find natural objects or examples that could represent

these concepts. The activity encouraged presence, sensory awareness, and creative association, while also demonstrating how nature-based reflection can be used in youth work settings.

After the exercise, the group gathered for a short reflection circle, where participants shared what they found, how their interpretation differed from others, and what they noticed about their own attention and emotional state during the activity. The facilitators then briefly introduced Tredu Club, its mission, and ongoing work in the fields of youth work, sustainability, and inclusive community activities, and explained how PEMEHECON's outcomes will be integrated into future local formats.

To close the follow-up activity, everyone stayed for informal socialising during a picnic, giving space for networking, peer exchange, and relationship-building—an important part of sustaining cooperation and motivating future initiatives inspired by the training.

  • Final evaluation paragraph:

The PEMEHECON Erasmus+ project was exceptionally well-organised, with supportive facilitators and a thoughtfully planned schedule. The mix of creative, reflective, and cross-cultural activities provided practical tools for mindfulness and self-resilience. In today's fast-paced world, it felt incredibly valuable to take time to pause, connect with myself, and enjoy nature. Meeting and connecting with participants from other countries made the experience even more inspiring and memorable.

  • Final evaluation paragraph:

The PEMEHECON Erasmus+ project showed me how important it is to do things consciously and with a clear mind, and to take time for myself. We worked with the five elements earth, water, air, fire, and metal, which helped us reflect on different areas of life more mindfully.

The venue and the overall organization were very good, and because the group was smaller and cozy, it created a pleasant atmosphere. This made it easier to get to know each other, exchange ideas, and share new experiences together.

  • Final evaluation paragraph: This was my first training course, but not my first ERASMUS+ project, it was quite similar but also different from a Youth exchange and with every activity, we learned about how we can connect with Nature to improve our mental health, and I personally think this Project was pretty well put together!

Anna

  • Final evaluation paragraph:

PEMEHECON was my first time participating in an ERASMUS+ training course.

The project was well-organised and carefully prepared. At every stage, I felt well-supported and always knew who to contact. I would especially like to highlight the excellent support provided by the Austrian NGO Tredu Club. Stephanie and Christian Rank were available to me at all times, offering information and ensuring I had everything I needed.

The training schedule was well-planned, and the content was diverse and well-coordinated. As someone who works with young people myself, I will be able to apply several of the methods I learned about, especially creative methods for mindfulness and self-reflection, e.g. working with clay or painting.

Meeting people from other countries was extremely enriching to me. I enjoyed immersing myself in their cultures and exploring the city together. This experience also helped me see my own home through different eyes.

I would like to express my thanks to all the facilitators for designing such an interesting and fun training course. The learning content was carefully planned and of solid quality. The trainers did an excellent job of engaging the group and fostering intensive exchange. Also the accommodation was well-located and perfectly suited for the activities and the food was very nice! I can only highly recommend this project!
