Follow-up Activity

On March 7th, our Georgian team organized a follow-up activity for the PEMEHECON - Protect the Environment and your Mental Health with your Connection with Nature project. Around 30 young people attended, providing a dynamic and enthusiastic audience for our session. We began the activity with a project presentation, sharing our personal experiences and journey during the Erasmus+ training course in Vienna. We explained in detail the activities we participated in, the knowledge we gained, and how we plan to implement these learnings within our own community.

After the introduction, we emphasized the relevance of the project's theme, discussing how environmental awareness and connection with nature contribute to mental health. We highlighted the importance of using the natural resources available in our country to support personal well-being, while also promoting community engagement and sustainable practices.

Following this, we organized an interactive Q&A session, allowing participants to ask questions about Erasmus+ and its opportunities. To make this part more engaging, we conducted a Kahoot quiz, assessing what the participants already knew about Erasmus+ projects. This interactive element encouraged participation, sparked curiosity, and generated lively discussion about the Erasmus+ program.

We then presented a more detailed overview of Erasmus+, including the different types of projects available, what each type offers, and the benefits of participation. We also introduced the countries involved in the PEMEHECON project, sharing photos and videos from cultural evenings, which allowed participants to see the international dimension of the project and the diversity of experiences.

The session also included a discussion on the importance of youth non-formal education. Participants shared their thoughts, ideas, and questions about informal learning, workshops, and the skills they found most valuable. This exchange created a reflective and collaborative environment, where young people could express themselves, learn from each other, and feel inspired to engage in similar projects in the future.

Overall, the follow-up activity was highly successful in transferring knowledge and experiences from the international project to the local context. It allowed us to directly involve young people in discussions about environmental and mental health issues, share practical skills, and inspire them to participate in non-formal educational activities. The event also strengthened our team's ability to organize educational sessions, communicate effectively, and build connections within our local community.

 Participants' impressions from the project:

  1. Kristina Khintibidze

I was truly impressed by the organization of the PEMEHECON - Protect the Environment and your Mental Health with your Connection with Nature training course, which took place in Vienna from 18/02 to 01/03/2026. The project's structure was exceptionally well-designed and tailored to meet the needs of all participants. The venue, accommodation, and overall environment were not only fully satisfactory but exceeded my expectations. The technical aspects of the project were perfectly managed, allowing us to focus entirely on learning and participation.

The theme of the project was highly relevant and important, not only from the perspective of our country but also globally. The activities addressed the real needs of our communities, we explored in depth the connection between humans and nature, and the thematic approach was consistently captivating. There was never a moment of boredom or fatigue, as the schedule was dynamic, balanced, and motivating throughout.

We learned many practical skills and knowledge that I have already started applying and that will continue to guide me in planning future workshops in my community. From the get to know sessions to the final evaluations, all activities were interactive, diverse, engaging, and educational. I want to mention that the team-building activities brought us closer together, strengthened our collaboration, and allowed us to form a strong international network.

This project was highly productive for both current and future youth workers. Personally, this was my first training course, and being involved in planning workshops, giving and receiving feedback has significantly helped me clarify my path and improve my professional skills.

Overall, participating in PEMEHECON was a privilege and an unforgettable experience. It enhanced my personal and professional growth, strengthened my civic and environmental awareness, and inspired me to actively apply what I learned in my community. I am confident that the knowledge, skills, and networks gained during this project will continue to have a positive impact on my work and on the communities I serve.

Training course: Protect the Environment and your Mental Health with your Connection with Nature, by organization PHEMECON was the experience that i would suggest to everyone, since it was, for sure, original for me.

The training was a combination of mindfulness and facilitating learning, it was really amazing, which helped me to understand how to manage difficulties while managing the project. what i liked the most was especially that training part, which was well designed and delivered.

i also gained the competence of video editing and stage organizating, as well as creating my own activity which i am proud of.

The fact that accommodation was in Vienna center, also made the situation more comfortable. The training course gave me the experience that I will appreciate for the rest of my life.

3. Mariam Abuseridze

For me, the main meaning of the PEMEHECON course was understanding how closely environmental protection and mental health are connected. It showed me that being in contact with nature is not only important for the planet, but also essential for our well-being.

Through this experience, I learned practical ways to use nature-based methods in youth work and to raise awareness in my community. The course inspired me to take more responsibility for both the environment and mental health, and to actively promote this connection in my future work.
