Evaluation
Evaluating the success of our project is a critical component to ensure that it achieves its objectives and generates meaningful results. The evaluation will focus on both quantitative and qualitative measures, providing a comprehensive understanding of the project's effectiveness.
1. Ongoing Monitoring and Feedback:
We will implement continuous monitoring processes from the start to track the project's progress against predefined milestones and objectives. Regular check-ins with partners, participants, and stakeholders will provide real-time insights into how the project is unfolding. These activities will help us identify any challenges early on and allow us to make adjustments to ensure the project stays on course.
2. Pre- and Post-Project Surveys:
The project will involve pre- and post-project surveys to assess changes in knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours related to key themes such as environmental awareness, mental well-being, and connection to nature. The pre-survey will establish a baseline, while the post-survey will measure progress made, providing quantitative evidence of the project's success in achieving its educational objectives.
3. Qualitative Feedback through Interviews and Focus Groups:
The project will utilise in-depth interviews and focus groups with participants, youth workers, and partner organisations to gather qualitative data. These discussions will explore participants' experiences, challenges, and perceived value of activities. Focus groups will also assess the effectiveness of non-formal learning methods and overall project satisfaction. This qualitative feedback will provide insights into the project's impact, identifying successes and areas for improvement.
4. Assessment of Project Outcomes and Objectives:
The evaluation of a project will compare its actual outcomes against initial objectives and expected results. It will assess the project's impact on participants' connection with nature, mental well-being, and environmental stewardship. The success of partnerships, the engagement of youth with limited opportunities, and the quality of learning experiences will also be evaluated. The assessment will be guided by project-specific indicators like participation rates and learning outcomes.
5. Final Project Report and Recommendations:
After the project, a comprehensive final report will be prepared, summarising all evaluation findings. This report will detail the extent to which the project met its objectives, the outcomes achieved, and any lessons learned. It will also include recommendations for future projects, based on the evaluation results. The final report will be shared with all partners, participants, and relevant stakeholders to ensure transparency and to contribute to the broader discourse on effective youth work practices.
6. Organisational Evaluation Letters: Each organisation will also be requested to write evaluation letters, offering a perspective on the project's implementation from the viewpoint of participating organisations. This additional layer of evaluation will help assess the overall coordination and execution of the project, contributing to continuous improvement in future initiatives. Additionally, dissemination activities conducted by participants in their home countries will be included in these evaluations, providing a broader perspective on the project's impact.
7. Youthpass Framework: Under the Youthpass framework, participants will have the opportunity to self-evaluate the project's outcomes one month after the completion of the workshops. This delayed self-evaluation allows participants to distance themselves from the educational process and provide more objective feedback on their learning achievements. They will answer questions related to the attainment of learning objectives, the development of skills, and personal growth experienced during the program.
Our evaluation strategy is comprehensive, inclusive, and reflective, aiming to accurately measure the project's success by using a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods, involving all stakeholders, and focusing on immediate and long-term impacts, providing valuable insights for future youth work initiatives.
